I was in the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium last Saturday afternoon watching the game between Batangas Bulls and Cebu Dolphins. I was excited because it was my first time to witness a Baseball game in the Philippines. I felt like a child in anticipation. Before I left home to watch, I have mentioned the plan to my cousin. He warned me that I might get disappointed because I’m used to watching major leagues on ESPN with professional ballplayers. I have thought the same, but I have already prepared myself. I have set my mind that I must not compare the Filipino ballplayers with those in the MLB. I’d say I was able to sustain the mind set, but I wasn’t able to stop myself from remembering my favourite team and players. Every pinch, every hit and every catch I saw in the field made me long to see my favourite ballplayers playing again. I’ve missed the recent games of my favourite team because ESPN Asia wasn’t covering MLB games. Thank goodness there was an MLB Gameday. It was fun watching the game between the Batangas Bulls and Cebu Dolphins. I was even pleased to see some drama during the game, but I won’t go into details.
